One word comes to mind – great. A simple word but it fits well to these gloves from Fox’s ‘All Mountain Trail’ range just as they fit well, even after many miles and a soaking or two. The gauntlet has (excuse the pun) been thrown down. Where I have had issues with some gloves I’ve worn, stretching and becoming baggy during use, these have held their shape. The stitching has also held up to my occasionally unplanned dismounts. They’re slightly larger in their sizing than other brands which is a breath of fresh air as I’m now in a large not an extra large (never thought my hands were that big). The single Velcro wrist fastening strap is strong and the fact that they’re not rammed with un-needed padding helps with the ability to still feel and hold on. Silicone grip pads on your main two breaking finger ends is a nice touch and very needed when you’re descending just a bit quicker than you were anticipating.
These are not quite a winter glove, as on the few mornings that I’ve encountered with a frost so far this year, I’ve found the thermal protection lacking – but this is not what these gloves are marketed as, so I suppose I’m being slightly picky in that respect. All-in-all an amazing value product for an entry level price and one I’ll be sticking with for the foreseeable future. If we gave stars for comfort, quality and value, it would be a full rack of 10’s from me.
