THE MIDLANDS
Meanwhile in Lincolnshire, a new scheme has launched in Lincoln as part of Lincolnshire County Council’s bike rental scheme. The bikes will be based at The Lawn, St Marks Shopping Centre, Burton Waters and Skellingthorpe Community Centre; four more docking stations will be added shortly. The e-bikes come complete with locks and lights, indicators on the handlebars and a ‘boost’ button for extra power. An app has also been created which will help to make it even easier to rent a bike or locate the nearest station.
The service is available 24/7 with casual and annual memberships available. Annual members get the first 30 minutes free and £1/hour on a pedal bike, and the first 20 minutes free and £2/hour rental fees on an e-bike. There’s no sign-up cost for a casual member with rental rates at £2/hour for a pedal bike and £3/hour for an e-bike.
